Adventures in Learning (AIL), supported by the Center for Learning in Action at Williams College and the Williamstown Elementary School (WES) PTO, offers a variety of exciting and challenging after-school courses for students Grades 1-6.
Classes meet once a week for up to four weeks January 7 – 30.
Volunteer instructors are Williams College students and members of the WES community. They are experienced, motivated, and enjoy working with children. AIL coordinators will serve as daily supervisors.
All classes meet from 3:00-5:00pm except Wednesday classes which meet from 1:30-3:30pm.
All students meet in the cafeteria at the end of the school day for a snack, which they provide themselves. Classes meet at WES (unless otherwise noted).
Parents are responsible for picking up their children in the cafeteria by 5:00pm (3:30pm on Wednesdays). We appreciate prompt pick-ups.
The fees are as follows:
One-week course: $8
Two-week course: $15
Three- and four-week courses: $30
Scholarship aid is available (please contact Principal Joelle Brookner; all inquiries are confidential).
Please note that there is no conflict with the musical for 6th graders on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Please return the completed Course Registration Form at the back of this catalog with your payment by Thursday, December 12, to your classroom teacher or to the main office. Please submit a separate registration and check for each child. Please do not send cash. If a course is over-enrolled, students will be selected by lottery. Classes are small, so please include alternate choices whenever possible. Courses with insufficient enrollment may be cancelled.
Exceptions can be made to age groups. Please contact Cecilia or Molly if your child is interested in a class but is not the right grade.
You will be informed of your child’s placement by Friday, December 20.
Adventures in Learning will host a celebratory Open House for families at WES on a date TBA. Come and share your child’s adventures!
